Unit 4 blog assignment
Hmm. Today is Saturday February 27th. It is about 8:53 and I just spent 2 hours working on the Unit 4 discussion post. It was very time consuming but I know that the work is done now and it will be very helpful when I actually start writing this paper. I found the KU Handbook for writers very easy to use. The examples were layed out for easy reference checks. I hope to get a chance to do more research tomorrow. I am very nervous about not getting a good grade on my paper. I just am not sure about this paraphrasing thing. I am afraid that my paper is going to be nothing but cited sentences. Anyone else feel in over their head?

How do I feel about being an online student?
Being an online student is a great experience. I am currently in my 3rd ten week session at Kaplan and I have nothing but good things to say. I find the ten week sessions are just enough to learn a subject but not become bored with it. I like that I can be as anonymous as I want to be. If I don't want to draw attention to myself I don't have to. The best part about being an online student is the schedule. If I want to do my school work at midnight I can. If I want to do some research while at work, the library is available. The funniest thing is trying to explain to my kids that I am in seminar and that I can't pour them a drink or make them a snack. They just don't understand that even though I am home, I am trying to attend and participate in class. Sometimes I wonder what is going on in other peoples homes. It gets crazy here. Kids screaming, dog barking, phone ringing. I often wonder how the teacher can just keep on teaching with all the interruptions....giggle giggle.

I love the quiet of the mornings!
I just finished posting to my discussion boards for Comp 2 and A&P 2. I find I can get so much done when it is early and the house is quiet. The kids have not woke up yet and the dog and I are tip toeing around drinking coffee and enjoying the solitude. There is a peace about the house early in the morning. However; in about an hour it will erupt in the chaos of our daily life. Kids will need to be feed and clothes will need to be found. Errands will need to be lined out. Bickering amongst the kids about who's turn it is on the playstation will become center stage. I think I better have a few more cups of coffee to prepare myself.

Thank Goodness it is Friday!
Finally it is Friday! I thought this day would never get here. What a great day too. I got roses from my boys and a beautiful arrangement of flowers from my mom. I got to make all the other girls in the office jealous. Was kinda nice to be the center of attention for a change. Usually I hate Valentines day. I mean come on what kind of representation of love is a cupid. When I think of love the last thing on my mind is a rolli polli toddler in a diaper coming at me with a weapon.

Yeah it is Hump Day!
Wow it is Wednesday already. We have made it over the mid week hump and are sliding into the weekend. We had a terrific meeting today! My youngest son and I are seeing a psychologist together to learn to control his ADHD and ODD. We learned some new techniques for handling our anger, and we are going to start meeting at the door every evening when I get home for a hug and a 10 minute talk about our day. We were very close to a boys home about 6 months ago but through therapy and medication we are managing to see this through. Does anyone have any questions about ADHD or ODD? I have actually done a lot of research and with all the therapy I have a good understanding of the problems. I am sure that most of us are stressed out about working, family, school, bills, and just life in general. We need to remember that the little things will not kill us. Let them go and tackle the big problems, and then if there is time go back to the little things. If you don't have time they will still be there tomorrow.

Welcome to my Blog! February 9, 2010
Hello fellow classmates! Glad you are here checking out my blog. Come on in and grab some java. We are real laid back around here. I am very excited to start blogging. I have a few other blogs that I already contribute too and I hope this will be just as much fun. Let me tell you a little about me. I am a widowed parent of 2 boys ages 15 and 8. I have been an LPN for 13 years. I work for a local doctor in a clinic setting. I have attempted bridging from LPN to RN but the schedule gets in the way of my family time. So here I am working towards the Medical Transcription degree. I hope to work from home in the transcription, medical billing and coding business. I love to read and I read about 500 pages a week. I have books everywhere! I like to write but I get bored easily if the story doesn't present itself quickly. I look forward to reading your bloggs and getting to know all about you. Hope you enjoy my dashboard, come back soon.
